Harry Kraemer, Kellogg Professor of Management and Strategy, offfered his life’s insights on Values-Based Leadership and how organizations can be transformed by “doing the right thing” while delivering outstanding and lasting results. Mr. Kraemer is an executive partner with Madison Dearborn Partners, one of the largest private equity firms in the U.S. He is the former chairman and chief executive officer of Baxter International Inc., a $12 billion NYSE global healthcare company. Mr. Kraemer is also the author of two bestselling leadership books. This was a joint meeting with the Kellogg Alumni Club of Wisconsin.

Dr. Michael R. Lovell is the 24th president of Marquette University and the first lay president in the university’s 134-year history. At Marquette, he has blended initiatives emphasizing innovation, entrepreneurship, and community renewal and development. Internally he has focused on strengthening the university’s leadership team, and establishing and moving forward the new Strategic Innovation Fund. There is renewed attention on the university’s neighborhood through the Near West Side Partners. New possibilities are being explored for its academics, research and athletic teams, and its relationship with the Milwaukee Bucks through the development of the Athletic Performance and Research Center.
