Wisconsin Policy Forum Research Director Jason Stein discussed Falling Behind?, his organization’s recent report on the financial and programmatic challenges facing public universities and colleges in the state. The presentation highlighted trends that show Wisconsin’s public higher education system is failing to keep pace with regional and national counterparts in key financial and performance metrics. Stein also discussed the UW System’s governance structure and how it compares with peer systems both generally and in its treatment of UW-Madison, the state’s flagship public university. The Forum is Wisconsin’s premier nonpartisan public policy think tank.
