Milwaukee Area Technical College President Dr. Vicki J. Martin will share an overview of the MATC Promise, a program that was introduced in September 2015 and will provide free tuition and fees to eligible high school graduates. The MATC Promise, funded entirely by private dollars raised by the MATC Foundation, is geared for low-income students who do not believe they can afford college. At a time when young people and our community needs MATC most, the MATC Promise develops a talent pipeline that benefits area residents and local business and industry. Dr. Martin will detail how the initiative was constructed, the services that are being developed to support the students' success, and how this program will help keep the greater Milwaukee talent pipeline filled with highly-qualified professionals.
