Rear Admiral Ricky Williamson, Commander, Navy Region Midwest, spoke on the history and significance of the War of 1812. Rear Admiral Williamson earned a bachelor's of science in computer science and his commission from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1985. Among his many assignments at sea and ashore, he has served tours as the Deputy Director of Plans and Policy in the Washington, D.C. area; as a lead examiner of the Steam and Gas Turbine Branches at the Propulsion Examination Board; and as the executive officer of the Command Leadership School in Newport, R.I.
