Sue Black turned the ship around – as the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel succinctly stated – over her decade-long tenure as the Milwaukee County Parks Director. Sue noted in the Summer 2012 edition of the MMAC Milwaukee Commerce that, “parks are often times the fabric on which we paint local culture and weave the foundation of our communities.” Recognizing this truth, Sue served as a champion for the system, even gaining status as a national Gold Medal award-winner in 2007. Her passion in forging partnerships to both protect our cherished Emerald Necklace and advance Milwaukee’s economic well-being will continue to impact this community for years to come.
