Gun violence in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the United States is a major cause of death and disability.  It is the leading cause of death for young African-American males. It is critically important that all sectors of civil society be actively engaged to address and reduce this disease burden. Using the public health model, Dr. Steve Hargarten of the Medical College of Wisconsin presented specific examples of how we can work towards building safer communities.
