Rotarian Rob Henken, President of the Public Policy Forum, will discuss a pair of recently released Public Policy Forum reports on K-12 education in Milwaukee. The first provides a broad overview of Milwaukee’s education landscape, showing overall characteristics in terms of schools, students, teachers, types of schools, demographics, and academic achievement, and breaking down the data among public, private, and charter schools. The companion report shows how the current education landscape has changed in the past decade and how it compares with a group of “peer” cities. Henken will summarize the key data findings and comment on policy implications for school improvement efforts in Milwaukee.
