In January, Rotarian Rob Henken, President of the Public Policy Forum, presented the firstphase of the Forum’s research on Milwaukee’s cultural and entertainment assets. In this March 18th program, Henken presented Phase II, which focuses on the distinct dedicated funding approaches employed by five metro areas to support their assets, and creates a series of models that show how those approaches hypothetically could be applied in Milwaukee County. In addition to describing the distinct funding approaches and sharing the results of the Forum’s modeling, Henken discussed the pros and cons of different revenue mechanisms and how they would impact the local tax burden in Milwaukee.
